Founded in 2017, the MZPC Scholarship Fund was created for international students seeking a undergraduate or graduate degrees in United States higher education institutions. This fund is sponsored by Mount Zion Prayer Center, a church pastored by Michael Obi that serves as a house of prayer and serves the locals of Cleveland, Tennessee.
International students travel thousands of miles for a better education. In most of their home countries, the higher education systems struggle with poor infrastructure, poor quality of education, unsalaried teachers and much more; leading parents to seek a better educational future for their children.
Upon entry into the United States, most international students are able to complete their first year but due to unforeseen circumstances, these students find it difficult to pay for the next three years. Some of these circumstances include death of primary caregiver, loss of family’s income, and incurred hospital bills.
We hope to empower and equip international students to become future Godly leaders. by supporting them with the financial assistance and resources needed to complete a higher education.
International students have a drive to excel in their field of study. According to the US News, “if international students don’t have the money to complete their education, they won’t be able to afford to complete their degree and accomplish their goals.” The goal of this scholarship fund is to give these students an opportunity to create a future for themselves as world leaders by providing scholarships for college tuition and fees.
